Product information "Prindle 19 Jib - Kangaroo Sails"
A new Prindle 19 jib from Kangaroo Sails brings your headsail up to date. There are three cuts to choose from, tailored to leisure sailors, club racers and racing sailors. You decide on the cloth, battens, window and Qbond.
Cuts at a glance
- Easy cut for leisure sailors: durable white Dacron with panels at right angles to the leech. Few panels, few seams that can fail, economical to produce. Flat, horizontal reinforcements; a window is possible.
- Beach cut for leisure and club racing: the panels radiate from the head, tack and clew – 2 from the head, 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth follows the loads in the sail and the number of seams stays small. Some panels can be window film. Radial reinforcements.
- Hightech cut for racing: more panels, again radiating from the head, tack and clew – 3 from the head, 6 from the clew, 1 from the tack. This matches the cloth better to the loads and allows a finer profile. Radial, fully bonded reinforcements; window film possible.
Options
- Window: yes or no
- Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight
- Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the patented Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.
Sailcloth
- White Dacron: woven from polyester fibres, easy to handle and long-lasting.
- Pentex in black, smoke, white or silver: a three-layer laminate bonded under pressure. The Pentex fibre core gives high strength and shape stability at low weight, and the outer layers are Mylar film. Suitable for racing and cruising.
- Mylar in smoke, blue, white, green or red: built like Pentex, with polyester fibres.
