Ventilo Zipó Jib - Kangaroo Sails

Kangaroo Sails makes this jib for the Ventilo Zipó in three cuts – from the low-maintenance Easy cut to the Hightech cut for Formula 16 racing. You choose the cloth, colour, battens and window, and get a headsail that suits your Ventilo Zipó and the way you sail.

Three cuts to choose from

• Easy (leisure): durable white Dacron with panels at right angles to the leech. Because the cut uses few panels, there are few seams that can fail and the build stays economical. Flat, horizontal reinforcements.
• Beach (leisure and club racing): radial cut with panels from the head, tack and clew – 2 from the head, 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth is aligned with the loads in the sail and there are only a few seams. Radial reinforcements.
• Hightech (racing): radial cut with 3 panels from the head, 6 from the clew and 1 from the tack. The higher panel count matches the cloth even more closely to the loads and allows finer profiling. Radially cut, fully bonded reinforcements.

Options

• Window-film panels possible with all cuts
• Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight
• Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the patented Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.

Cloths

• Dacron (white): woven from polyester fibres, easy to handle, long-lasting.
• Pentex (black, smoke, white, silver): laminate for racing and cruising – a Pentex fibre core for high strength and shape stability at low weight, Mylar film on both sides, bonded under pressure.
• Mylar (smoke, blue, white, green, red): laminate like Pentex, but with polyester fibres.
