Nacra Inter 20 Mainsail - Kangaroo Sails

The Nacra Inter 20 mainsail from Kangaroo Sails can be tailored to how you sail. Choose the Beach cut for leisure sailing, the Hightech cut for racing, or the Decksweeper, and combine it with Dacron, Pentex or Mylar. Window, battens, colours and Qbond complete the configuration.

Which cut suits you?

• Beach for relaxed leisure sailing: the panels run radially from head and clew – 4 panels at the head, 10 at the clew and one along the luff. Flat, horizontal reinforcements and white Dacron batten pockets.
• Hightech for the race course: with 6 panels at the head, 11 at the clew and one along the luff, this radial cut handles the loads in the sail better and allows a more precise profile. Reinforcements are cut flat and fully bonded, and the batten pockets use the sailcloth itself.
• Decksweeper: offered as a third cut option. On a Decksweeper the foot reaches down to just above the trampoline (usually with a curved boom): sail and trampoline act like an end plate, reducing the tip vortices along the foot for better pointing and speed upwind. Widely used in racing since the 2017 F18 Worlds.

Which cloth?

• Pentex – the laminate for racing and cruising sailors: a core of Pentex fibres sits between two Mylar films and gives the cloth high strength and shape stability at low weight. The three layers are bonded under pressure. Colours: black, smoke, white, silver.
• Mylar – built like Pentex, but with polyester fibres in the core. Colours: smoke, white, blue, green, red.
• Dacron – woven polyester sailcloth, valued for easy handling and long service life. Colour: white.
