Nacra Inter 17 Mainsail - Kangaroo Sails

Kangaroo Sails offers the Nacra Inter 17 mainsail in three cuts so that it matches the way you sail. The Beach cut is intended for leisure sailors; the Hightech cut uses more panels to handle the loads in the sail better and is aimed at racers; and there is also the Decksweeper. Cloth and equipment are your choice.

Which cut suits you?

• Beach for relaxed leisure sailing: the panels run radially from head and clew – 4 panels at the head, 10 at the clew and one along the luff. Flat, horizontal reinforcements and white Dacron batten pockets.
• Hightech for the race course: with 6 panels at the head, 11 at the clew and one along the luff, this radial cut handles the loads in the sail better and allows a more precise profile. Reinforcements are cut flat and fully bonded, and the batten pockets use the sailcloth itself.
• Decksweeper: offered as a third cut option. On a Decksweeper the foot reaches down to just above the trampoline (usually with a curved boom): sail and trampoline act like an end plate, reducing the tip vortices along the foot for better pointing and speed upwind. Widely used in racing since the 2017 F18 Worlds.

• Window-film lower panels (for Beach and Hightech)

• Batten options: no battens, standard battens or battens for DS (Decksweeper)
• With or without Qbond

Sailcloth

• Dacron (white): woven polyester sailcloth that is easy to handle and long-lasting.
• Pentex (black, smoke, white, silver): a laminate for racing and cruising made of three layers bonded under pressure. The Pentex fibre core gives high strength and shape stability at low weight; both outer layers are Mylar film.
• Mylar (smoke, white, blue, green, red): same construction as Pentex, but using polyester fibres.
