Nacra Inter 18 Mainsail - Kangaroo Sails

For the Nacra Inter 18, Kangaroo Sails makes a mainsail in two cuts: Beach for leisure sailors and Hightech for racers, whose extra panels give a better profile. It can be supplied measured on request. Cloth, window, battens and Qbond are put together individually.

Sail cuts

• Beach – for leisure sailors: radial cut from the head and clew with 4 panels from the head, 10 panels from the clew and 1 panel along the luff. Flat, horizontal reinforcements; batten pockets in white Dacron.
• Hightech – for racing sailors: radial cut with 6 panels from the head, 11 panels from the clew and 1 panel along the luff. The extra panels align the cloth more closely with the loads in the sail and give a better profile. Reinforcements are cut flat and fully bonded; batten pockets are made from the same cloth as the sail.

• Window-film lower panels (for Beach and Hightech)
• Multi-colour panels possible
• Batten options: no battens or with battens
• With or without Qbond (Q-Bond: panels bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer)
• Measurement optional

Cloths

• Dacron: woven polyester cloth in white – easy to handle and long-lasting.
• Pentex: three-layer composite – Pentex fibres in the core, Mylar film on both sides, laminated under pressure – giving high strength and shape stability at low weight for racing and cruising. Available in black, smoke, white and silver.
• Mylar: a laminate on the Pentex principle, but with polyester fibres; in smoke, white, blue, green and red.
