Topcat K2 Jib - Kangaroo Sails

Kangaroo Sails makes the Topcat K2 jib to your configuration. Choose between the economical Easy cut, the Beach cut for leisure and club racing, and the Hightech cut for racing. Cloth and colour, batten type, window and Qbond complete the specification.

Cut options

• Easy for leisure sailors: durable white Dacron, panels at right angles to the leech. Few panels keep the number of seams that can fail low and the build economical. Flat, horizontal reinforcements; window possible.
• Beach for leisure and club racing: radial cut with 2 panels from the head and 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth is aligned with the loads in the sail and the sail has few seams. Some window-film panels possible. Radial reinforcements.
• Hightech for racing: radial cut with 3 panels from the head, 6 from the clew and 1 from the tack. More panels match the cloth better to the loads and allow a finer profile. Radial, fully bonded reinforcements; window film possible.

Configuration

• Window: yes or no
• Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight battens
• Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the patented Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.

Sailcloth

• Dacron, white: woven polyester cloth – good handling, long life.
• Pentex, black, smoke, white or silver: a three-layer composite for racing and cruising. Pentex fibre core for high strength and shape stability at low weight, two Mylar films outside, bonded under pressure.
• Mylar, smoke, blue, white, green or red: built like Pentex, but with polyester fibres.
