Prindle 18 Jib - Kangaroo Sails

Looking for a new Prindle 18 jib? Kangaroo Sails makes it in three cuts: Easy for relaxed sailing, Beach for leisure and club racing, and Hightech for the race course. Choose the cloth, batten type, window and Qbond option to suit your Prindle 18.

Cuts at a glance

• Easy: for leisure sailors, in durable white Dacron. Panels at right angles to the leech keep the number of seams that can fail low and make the sail economical to build. Flat, horizontal reinforcements; window possible.
• Beach: for leisure and club racing sailors. The panels radiate from the head, tack and clew (2 from the head, 6 from the tack and clew), so they are aligned with the loads in the sail. Few seams; some panels can be made in window film. Radial reinforcements.
• Hightech: for racing sailors. Radial cut with 3 panels from the head, 6 from the clew and 1 from the tack. The extra panels match the cloth more closely to the loads and allow a finer profile. Radial, fully bonded reinforcements; window panels possible.

• Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight
• Qbond option: panels bonded with the patented Q-Bond process instead of stitched – no needle holes, so lighter, more shape-stable and longer-lasting

Cloths

• Dacron (white): woven polyester cloth, easy handling, long service life.
• Pentex (black, smoke, white, silver): a racing and cruising laminate of three layers bonded under pressure – a Pentex fibre core for high strength and shape stability at low weight, with Mylar film outside.
• Mylar (smoke, blue, white, green, red): laminate like Pentex, but with polyester fibres.
