Product information "Prindle 15 Jib - Kangaroo Sails"
Kangaroo Sails makes the Prindle 15 jib in three cuts. The Easy cut is robust and economical, the Beach cut is aimed at leisure and club racing sailors, and the Hightech cut at racers. Cloth, battens and window are configured to suit your Prindle 15.
Sail cuts
- Easy (leisure sailors): durable white Dacron with panels at right angles to the leech. Few panels, few seams that can fail, and economical to build. Flat, horizontal reinforcements; window possible.
- Beach (leisure and club racing): radial cut with panels from the head, tack and clew – 2 from the head, 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth is aligned with the loads in the sail and the number of seams stays low. Individual window-film panels possible. Radial reinforcements.
- Hightech (racing): radial cut with more panels – 3 from the head, 6 from the clew, 1 from the tack. The cloth follows the loads even better and the profile can be shaped more finely. Reinforcements cut radially and fully bonded; window film possible.
Configuration
- Window: no or yes
- Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight
- Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the patented Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.
Sailcloth
- White Dacron: woven polyester cloth with good handling and a long life.
- Pentex in black, smoke, white or silver: a three-layer laminate with Pentex fibres in the core and Mylar film outside, bonded under pressure. High strength and shape stability at low weight, for racing and cruising.
- Mylar in smoke, blue, white, green or red: same construction as Pentex, with polyester fibres.
