Nacra SE Jib - Kangaroo Sails

Kangaroo Sails makes a dedicated jib for the Nacra SE in three cuts. Whether you sail for fun, race at club level or compete seriously, you pick the cut that suits you and then choose the cloth, battens and window to match.

Cut options

• Easy for leisure sailors, in durable white Dacron: the panels run at right angles to the leech. With only a few panels there are few seams that can fail, and the sail is economical to build. Flat, horizontal reinforcements.
• Beach for leisure and club racing sailors: a radial cut with panels radiating from the head, tack and clew – 2 from the head, 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth is aligned with the loads in the sail while keeping the number of seams low. Radial reinforcements.
• Hightech for racing sailors: also radial from head, tack and clew, but with more panels – 3 from the head, 6 from the clew, 1 from the tack. The cloth follows the loads even more closely and the profile can be shaped more finely. Reinforcements are cut radially and fully bonded.

Options

• Window or window-film panels possible with all three cuts
• Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight battens
• Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the patented Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.

Sailcloth

• Dacron in white: woven polyester cloth that is easy to handle and long-lasting.
• Pentex in black, smoke, white or silver: a three-layer laminate for racing and cruising. The Pentex fibre core gives high strength and shape stability at low weight, with Mylar film on both outer faces and all layers bonded under pressure.
• Mylar in smoke, blue, white, green or red: the same laminate construction as Pentex, but with polyester fibres.
