Nacra 580 Jib - Kangaroo Sails

Kangaroo Sails offers a jib for the Nacra 580 that you configure step by step: first the sail cut to suit how you sail, then the cloth and colour, the batten type and a window if needed. That way the new headsail suits your Nacra 580 and your style of sailing.

Sail cuts

• Easy for leisure sailors – made from durable white Dacron. The panels run at right angles to the leech, so there are few seams that can fail and the build is economical. Flat, horizontal reinforcements.
• Beach for leisure and club racing sailors – panels radiate from the head, tack and clew: 2 from the head, 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth is aligned with the loads in the sail and there are only a few seams. Radial reinforcements.
• Hightech for racing sailors – radial, with 3 panels from the head, 6 from the clew and 1 from the tack. The extra panels match the cloth even better to the loads and the profile can be set more finely. Reinforcements cut radially and fully bonded.

Options

• Window: window-film panels possible with all cuts
• Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight
• Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the patented Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.

Cloths and colours

• Dacron (white): woven polyester cloth, easy handling and long life.
• Pentex (black, smoke, white, silver): laminate for racing and cruising – three layers with Pentex fibres in the core and Mylar film outside, bonded under pressure for high strength and shape stability at low weight.
• Mylar (smoke, blue, white, green, red): laminate with the same construction, but with polyester fibres.
