Nacra 570 Jib - Kangaroo Sails

The Nacra 570 jib from Kangaroo Sails comes in three cuts, tailored to leisure sailors, club racers and regatta sailors. Add Dacron, Pentex or Mylar in the colour you want, the batten type and a window if required – and you have the right headsail for your Nacra 570.

Which cut fits?

• Easy – for leisure sailing: durable white Dacron, panels at right angles to the leech. With few panels there are few seams that can fail, and the sail is economical to make. Flat, horizontal reinforcements.
• Beach – for leisure and club racing: radial cut, 2 panels from the head and 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth follows the loads in the sail, and the number of seams stays low. Radial reinforcements.
• Hightech – for racing: radial cut with 3 panels from the head, 6 from the clew and 1 from the tack. More panels mean a better match to the loads and a sail whose profile can be shaped more finely. Radial, fully bonded reinforcements.

Sailcloth

• White Dacron: woven polyester cloth, easy to handle and long-lasting.
• Pentex (black, smoke, white, silver): three-layer laminate with a Pentex fibre core and two Mylar films, bonded under pressure – high strength and shape stability at low weight, for racing and cruising.
• Mylar (smoke, blue, white, green, red): built like Pentex, but with polyester fibres.

Equipment

• Window-film panels: possible with all cuts
• Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight
• Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the patented Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.
