Hobie Tiger F18 Jib 4.15 sq m - Kangaroo Sails

The Hobie Tiger F18 jib from Kangaroo Sails has a sail area of 4.15 m² and can be supplied measured on request. Three cuts are available, from the straightforward Easy cut for leisure sailors to the Hightech cut for racing. You decide on the cloth, colour, battens and window.

• Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the patented Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.

Sail cuts

• Easy for leisure sailors: durable white Dacron, panels at right angles to the leech. Few panels mean few seams that can fail and an economical build. Flat, horizontal reinforcements.
• Beach for leisure and club racing: radial cut with 2 panels from the head and 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth is aligned with the loads in the sail, and the sail has only a few seams. Radial reinforcements.
• Hightech for racing: radial cut with 3 panels from the head, 6 from the clew and 1 from the tack. With more panels the cloth follows the loads even more closely and the profile can be set more finely. Radially cut, fully bonded reinforcements.

Cloths

• White Dacron: woven polyester cloth, easy to handle and durable.
• Pentex in black, smoke, white or silver: three-layer laminate for racing and cruising – Pentex fibres in the core for high strength and shape stability at low weight, Mylar film outside, bonded under pressure.
• Mylar in smoke, blue, white, green or red: built like Pentex, but with polyester fibres.
