Product information "AHPC Taipan Jib - Kangaroo Sails"

You configure the AHPC Taipan jib from Kangaroo Sails for the way you sail: the Easy cut for leisure sailing, the Beach cut for leisure and club racing, or the Hightech cut for the race course. Cloth, window, battens and Qbond are chosen to match.

Sail cuts

  • Easy – for leisure sailors, in durable white Dacron: panels at right angles to the leech, so few seams and an economical build. Flat, horizontal reinforcements.
  • Beach – for leisure and club racing sailors: radial cut with 2 panels from the head and 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth is aligned with the loads in the sail. Radial reinforcements.
  • Hightech – for racing sailors: radial cut with 3 panels from the head, 6 from the clew and 1 from the tack. More panels, cloth better aligned with the loads and a more finely shaped profile; reinforcements radial and fully bonded.

Options

  • Window: possible with all cuts
  • Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight battens
  • Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.

Sailcloth

  • Dacron (white): woven polyester sailcloth that is easy to handle and long-lasting.
  • Pentex (black, smoke, white, silver): a laminate for racing and cruising made of three layers bonded under pressure. The Pentex fibre core gives high strength and shape stability at low weight; the outer layers are Mylar film.
  • Mylar (smoke, blue, white, green, red): same construction as Pentex, but using polyester fibres.
