Product information "AHPC Capricorn Jib - Kangaroo Sails"

With this AHPC Capricorn jib, Kangaroo Sails offers a 4.15 m² headsail for the Formula 18 catamaran. Choose between the Easy cut for relaxed leisure sailing, the Beach cut for leisure and club racing, and the Hightech cut for racing. The jib can be supplied measured on request.

Sail cuts

  • Easy – in durable white Dacron: panels at right angles to the leech, few seams that can fail and an economical build. Flat, horizontal reinforcements.
  • Beach – radial cut with 2 panels from the head and 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth follows the loads in the sail and there are only a few seams. Radial reinforcements.
  • Hightech – radial cut with 3 panels from the head, 6 from the clew and 1 from the tack for an even better match to the loads and a more finely adjustable profile. Reinforcements cut radially and fully bonded.

Specifications and options

  • Sail area: 4.15 m²
  • Measurement: optional
  • Window or window-film panels possible
  • Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight battens
  • Qbond option: panels bonded with the patented Q-Bond process instead of stitched – no needle holes, so lighter, more shape-stable and longer-lasting

Sailcloth

  • Dacron (white): woven polyester sailcloth, easy to handle and long-lasting.
  • Pentex (black, smoke, white, silver): three-layer laminate for racing and cruising; Pentex fibres in the core, Mylar film outside, bonded under pressure – high strength and shape stability at low weight.
  • Mylar (smoke, blue, white, green, red): built like Pentex, but with polyester fibres.

Compatible with
