Product information "Dart 20 Jib - Kangaroo Sails"

For your Dart 20, Kangaroo Sails offers a new jib in three cuts. Leisure sailors pick the robust Easy cut, club racers the Beach cut, and keen racers the Hightech cut with a finer profile. Cloth, battens and window are configured to match.

Cuts at a glance

  • Easy cut in durable white Dacron: panels at right angles to the leech, so there are few seams that can fail and the sail is economical to make. Flat, horizontal reinforcements.
  • Beach cut: panels radiate from the head, tack and clew – 2 from the head, 6 from the tack and clew. The cloth follows the loads in the sail and the number of seams stays low. Radial reinforcements.
  • Hightech cut: also radial, with 3 panels from the head, 6 from the clew and 1 from the tack. More panels mean an even better match to the loads and a more finely adjustable profile. Reinforcements are cut radially and fully bonded.

Cloth choice

  • White Dacron: woven polyester sailcloth, easy to handle and durable.
  • Pentex in black, smoke, white or silver: a three-layer laminate for racing and cruising. Pentex fibres in the core provide high strength and shape retention at low weight, with Mylar film outside.
  • Mylar in smoke, blue, white, green or red: built like Pentex, but with polyester fibres.

Equipment

  • Window-film panels possible with every cut
  • Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight
  • Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the patented Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.
