Nacra Inter 20 MK2 Catamaran

The Nacra Inter 20 MK2 brings back one of the best-known 20-foot beach catamarans. It is designed for crews whose combined weight is above the optimum racing weight of the Formula 18 class, and it stands for speed, stability and easy handling.

The hull shape is based on the Nacra F20 Carbon. Mast, boom and spinnaker pole are aluminium, the rigging stainless steel – keeping maintenance and costs within reach. Daggerboards and rudders come from the F18 platform: straight daggerboards and kick-up rudders with aluminium castings and carbon blades. The sails are by Performance Sails, main and jib in Radial Pentex, plus a nylon spinnaker. The mainsail is a deck-sweeper and gives the crew more room through tacks and gybes.

Racing, long distance or fast recreational sailing: the updated class rules give the MK2 a rating that fits older Inter 20s and other 20-foot catamarans, opening the way to a dedicated one-design class.
