Hurricane 5.9 Mainsail - Kangaroo Sails

The Hurricane 5.9 mainsail is part of the Kangaroo Sails racing range. It draws on over 20 years of sailing experience and countless hours on the water. Choose the Beach cut for relaxed leisure sailing or the Hightech or Decksweeper cut for racing, and specify the cloth, window and battens to match.

Sail cuts

• Beach – for the leisure sailor: radial cut with 4 panels from the head, 10 from the clew and 1 panel along the luff. Batten pockets in white Dacron, flat reinforcements; lower panels optionally in window film, multi-colour layout possible.
• Hightech / Decksweeper – for the racing sailor: radial cut with 6 panels from the head, 11 from the clew and 1 along the luff. More panels in the head and foot give a better profile. Batten pockets in the same cloth as the sail, reinforcements cut flat and fully bonded; window and multi-colour design possible.

Sailcloth

• Pentex in black, smoke, white, silver or red: for racing and leisure, a three-layer laminate with Pentex fibres in the core for high strength and shape stability at low weight, Mylar film outside, bonded under pressure.
• Mylar in white, blue or green: same structure as Pentex, with polyester fibres.
• Dacron in white: woven polyester cloth, pleasant to handle and long-lasting.
