Product information "Nacra Blast Jib - Kangaroo Sails"

Kangaroo Sails makes this jib specifically for the Nacra Blast in three sail cuts. Whether it is relaxed beach sailing, club racing or serious racing, you pick the right cut and add the cloth, colour, battens and window to match.

Cuts at a glance

  • Easy: leisure cut in durable white Dacron. Panels at right angles to the leech mean few seams that can fail and an economical build. Flat, horizontal reinforcements.
  • Beach: radial cut for leisure and club racing sailors, panels from the head, tack and clew – 2 from the head, 6 from the tack and clew. The benefit: the cloth is aligned with the loads in the sail and there are few seams. Radial reinforcements.
  • Hightech: radial cut for racing sailors with 3 panels from the head, 6 from the clew and 1 from the tack. The extra panels match the cloth even better to the loads, and the profile can be shaped more finely. Reinforcements cut radially and fully bonded.

Cloths and colours

  • Dacron (white): woven polyester cloth – easy handling, long life.
  • Pentex (black, smoke, white, silver): three-layer laminate with Pentex fibres in the core and Mylar film outside, bonded under pressure. High strength and shape stability at low weight, for racing and cruising.
  • Mylar (smoke, blue, white, green, red): built like Pentex, but with polyester fibres.

Equipment

  • Window-film panels possible with all cuts
  • Battens: full-length, for a furling system, or straight
  • Qbond option (yes or no): the panels are joined with the patented Q-Bond process, bonded under high pressure instead of stitched – no needle holes, so the sail is lighter, holds its shape better and lasts longer.
