The D-Splicer Soft Fid is the answer for core-and-cover splices where conventional pulling or hollow fids make little progress. With modern, very tightly braided ropes such as RunnerTwin, metal fids often reach their limits. The Soft Fid consists of a white Dyneema cover and a coloured Dyneema hollow braid.
How it works
Insert the end of the rope to be buried into the white cover of the Soft Fid
Use a thin splicing needle to pull the coloured end of the Soft Fid through the standing part of the rope
Pull firmly on the coloured end – the white cover draws the buried end through the rope
